Have you even seen this flick jerseydevil?
No offense Doc, because I know you admire the mans work, but even if i could get past the skeevies i have for Woodrow Allen...I am just not the audience for this. I don't deny that it could be a great movie, but nothing about a Woody Allen flick starring ScarJo/And the Tudor, +love story set around tennis, appeals to me. I am just not refined enough to watch a movie I have no interest in simply because it may be a fine film. I take full responsibility for that before you start defending...
Whatever. You're fired.
i'm not usually a woody allen fan, but i enjoyed match point. it's darker than i expected... that's all i'll say.
I got notification Match Point is being shipped today so I will be watching it most likely Thursday since Wednesday I need to watch the Kings win game 4.
Ok I finished Match Point.
While it an above average movie I can not say I enjoyed it. Though well acted, none of the characters were even remotely likeable.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers played his part well as the guy who wants it all, seems to get it and then proves to be willing to murder to keep it.
Scarlett Johansson was nice eye candy but played a sterotype "other woman"
The "guilt" dream/ghost visitation of Jonathan's has did not work and with the detective basiclly having the same dream of the crime should have been left out.
It seems to be like Woody Allen was trying to do a different version on Crime & Misdemeanors.
As I said it was a decent film just not one I would add to my collection.
