Ok, I watched Noroi: The Curse on Friday. First off, let me say how much I love the fact that I was able to see the whole thing on YouTube. If this sort of thing had been available a decade ago, I would have so much more money than I do right now, and a hell of a lot more shelf space. Goddamn. Normally, I'm not a fan of the idea, really, but since this is all shot with a handheld camera, the dip in picture quality really wasn't an issue. So, DieHard, good choice.Quote:

I liked the movie quite a bit. I think it dragged some in the middle, two hours is a long run-time for a movie that is mostly an investigation, especially since the investigator guy isn't a terribly interesting character. Some of the investigative procedural bits were maybe a little too coincidental or lucky, but really it didn't distract from the enjoyment too much. It's a minor gripe.
It's definitely a slow-burn movie, but it's pretty damn creepy in spots and there's some genuinely intense moments, too that work really nicely. Solid acting, a smart way to frame a found-footage flick and a good story. It wasn't good enough that I'm going to import a copy, but if I happened across a used one at Amoeba, I'd probably go ahead and pick it up to lend out to people I lend movies to. Quite enjoyable. 8/10
And for my assignment, I pick Dr. Naysay and I assign The Innocents, which is on Netflix (https://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/T...0?locale=en-US), but not available for streaming, apparently.
