It's become a sad state of affairs when you hope DeNiro doesn't screw up a Statham movie.

Statham's KILLER ELITE has a trailer and a test screening review today!
Ain't It Cool News: The best in movie, TV, DVD, and comic book news.
Without spoiling the story, I'll say it does have a few unpredictable moments. It kept my attention fairly well, and the audience was responding great to it. When I was writing on the card about my thoughts, I felt there wasn't as much of DeNiro as you wanted to see. Even with all the **** he's done nowadays, he still has the on screen charisma that draws you in. Jason's a good actor, but he didn't do anything different here. Owen carried a lot of this film. So with that, I'll say go see it and enjoy it. Just know that it's a Statham movie, not a DeNiro film.
TIFF ‘11 Review: ‘Killer Elite’ Offers Some Cheap Thrills But Not Much Else > The Playlist
And really, really cool is what “Killer Elite” should have been – it’s a period action movie with a bunch of people who, under the right circumstances, could have been perfect for the material (see Statham’s underrated 1970s-set heist movie “The Bank Job”). Instead, you get a bunch of lousy “locations,” wooden acting, an absurd plot, and uniformly terrible facial hair. As something you stumble across a few years from now, on home video or in the backwoods of your cable spectrum, it’s perfectly passable. As the searing indictment of a government agency run amok and the secretive killers battling it out behind closed doors, it fails spectacularly. All in all, it’s a pretty even split. [C+]

Review: Even With Robert De Niro, 'Killer' Isn't So Elite | The Wrap Movies
This is one I want to see regardless of what the reviews might say.“Killer Elite” takes promising ingredients, including its trio of charismatic lead actors and an intriguing subplot about the Feather Men -- and then squanders them in a routine recipe. The film is little more than scene after scene of gunplay, chase scenes and spilled blood, accompanied by on-screen headers informing us that we’re now in London, Paris, Oman or some other global hotspot.
Saw this yesterday. Thought it was really good. Statham and DeNiro were great. More a spy thriller revenge movie with good action rather than a Statham action movie. I know it is comparable to probably a half-dozen other movies but I can't think of which ones...
Killer Elite: Movie Review
I appreciated that there was an attempt to make an action movie with a complex controversial backbone even with its problems. The action sequences are exciting and the characters are compelling enough to invest your attention. A must see for action fans.
