Saw Toy Story 3. Great movie.
Prince George: You know, Blackadder, for me socks are like sex. Lots of it about and I never seem to get any.
Vikings vs. aliens--what a disappointment.

I just saw Matthew Barney's "Cremasters 3" at the Nuart last week; what a bizarre spectacle! The set design, camera work and costumes are brilliant, but it's certainly not a movie you go to just pleasantly enjoy. It could have been more effective if it had a bit less repetition IMO, and "The Order" segment of should have been it's own, unrelated short.
But if you don't need to "understand" what you're watching to enjoy a piece of visual beauty, definitely check it out.

We saw the trailer for this with Trash Humpers(sorry we missed you) and i couldn't help but think it looked like horribly self indulgent art-for-art's sake. Sexual ambiguity, check...Lady GaGa-ish absurd costumes, check...overall puzzling sense of what the hell am I watching, check and double check...AND THAT WAS JUST THE TRAILER...the fact that you made the trek and watched the whole thing...you are a better man than I sir...
I was/am certainly curious about the Cremaster films and Barney's work in general (even if only because Bjork liked him enough to marry him). Someday I'll give them a look.
Hmm. Caught this about 1/2 way thru...and it hit the inevitable 'reveal' which seemed labored...I mean when a flick goes black and white, not regular b+w but surveillance cam b+w, where peoples pupils are black, you are trying too hard. And the surveillance cam-vision went on for a good 5 minutes which really seemed longer in a 70-ish minute flick. Anyway, I re-watched it from the beginning, and something that kinda had me shaking my head...made more sense. Is this a good flick...no. Too clever for it's own good. But good acting and beautiful cinematography...along with some guilty pleasure 'i wish this had been better' feelings, make this a decent watch as long as ya didn't pay for it.
