I saw Silent Hill last night.

    I thought it blew.

Just got done watching Collatoral. It was pretty good. I didn't even hate Tom Cruise! But his hair is another story...

    Ridley's Scott's "White Squall".

    Grade: A.

Based on a true story, "White Squall" is a movie about a group of kids from different backgrounds, each with their own issues, coming together for a sea voyage half way around the world and back and what befalls them and the crew.

Yeah, there's hundred's of other movies that have gone over this territory previously but this movie is very well done.

It's very well done (camera work, editing, acting, script, character developement). Jeff Bridges seems to be getting better all the time.

You can say that about almost any Ridley Scott film.

I do remember liking it. Maybe I'll rent it sometime soon.

This movie had me squirming in my chair and hiding my eyes. I even screamed fairly loud at a few scenes (one in particular)...and groaned throughout the rest of it. Good times! Even though it was quite gory...and the premise, totally vile....I have to admit that I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. What that says about me, I don't know. LOL!

Definitely not for the casual horror fan.
I haven't seen the unrated version, but saw the R version in theaters and that it sucked. The Hills Have Eyes is much much better.

Watched Ichi the Killer yesterday. Absolutely hated it. It just made me uncomfortable. I'm becoming less tolerant of cartoony violence (and violence against women), which this moving picture had in spades. And it was muddled and interminable on top of all of that. I can't think of a single redeeming quality. I don't see how this movie has so many fans (you like it, adgy?). I haven't misliked a film this much in a long time...
