OK...produced by David Lynch...directed by Warner Herzog. Michael Shannon/Udo Kier/Grace Zabriskie/Brad Dourif/Willem DaFoe...I get it. This is 'experimental cinema'. As a huge Lynch fan I went into this eyes wide open...but when Michael Shannon, Brad Dourif and a midget in a tuxedo look at the screen for a couple of minutes...no lie, a couple of minutes, while some Italian opera music plays in the background...well, I have my limits. God bless Michael Shannon because he appears to be in an entirely different movie than everyone else. I guarantee that 99% of this movie was made with the actors being thrust into scenes with no dialogue to sink or swim with improv. OOOOOf, even Adgy, who is a Herzog fan, would have a hard time defending this. If you can make it through to the end...I salute you.
