Thread: Last Movie Watched

LOVED it! it made complete sense to me therefore it did frighten me. i'm studying on my free time the topics present in this film and trying to dig deeper into what it is that makes one sees or feels ghosts. the main thing that i found most interesting is that this film presented a more logical view and reason to what was happening. Energy is everything.


pretty funny and entertaining but then it got touchy, probably because of personal issues. but i liked it and i recommend it.


i enjoyed this movie for what it was, entertainment. there are those who want to argue that there wasn't enough alien action in this film. well that's not the purpose. the purpose was to show what the military would have to go through in such a scenario. was it dead on and perfect? probably not. but it was entertaining.


ugh! stupid. a waste of time.


good times. not much i can say about it except funny. i don't why but i'm somewhat attracted to Jason Segel. he's funny that's for sure. maybe that's why.


pretty good. dramatic. heartfelt. i might see it again. music is awesome! string instruments are the best!


i enjoyed this movie, fun, entertaining, kid-like. the part that was most memorable to me was the lantern scene. it was good mushy times.

that was some of my summer spent. there are a few other movies but i can't remember the names of them.

Dunno about the others but Battle:LA was a disappointment. Too many stock characters that I just couldn't care about. The fact that the guy from Newark knew how to hotwire a bus was a little offensive too. And Black Death was a grim little flick. But, waste of time??? I disagree. I think it really captured the plague times, as unpleasant as they were. And I bought into the whole violence in the name of superstition/religious fury theme. Plus Sean Bean is aces. I think that might have been the biggest letdown in Battle:LA...I like Eckhardt but he just doesn't sell it. It always seems as if he would rather be somewhere else. Welcome Back.

i felt Black Death was poorly done which is a bummer because the plague is one of my favorite topics to discuss. the acting in it was especially horrid. Sean Bean was the only good thing in it. I only enjoyed Battle LA for entertainment purposes only. i don't have to think about much watching it.

this was freakin weird but it was funny up until it got serious. it still maintained some hilarity to it though. outrageous outfits! i can't imagine living that lifestyle.


this movie is one of those i was enjoying up until towards the end when it just got ridiculous. i was really rooting for the guy in his logic and he was doing such a great job at it. i felt this movie was just a jab at the atheist view. i'm not pure atheist but what this movie tried to do completely irked me. the ending was so overdone and not believable and with a great actor like Anthony Hopkins, you would think the role was so much more convincing. it went from thought out to just plain ridiculous. if i could give it lower than an F grading, i would. i don't even want to say anything more on the matter. it was a major disappointment.

oh and thanx JD! it feels like it's been quite a long time since i've been here.

Watched Demolition Man on BR yesterday. Goofy but still as watchable as it was in 1993. 7/10.

Liked this a lot. Thought it was very funny and Gleeson was fantastic. Be warned, though: BoobyTrap HATED IT and if she ever decides to come on LGK again will write a scathing review with lots of capital letters and asterisks in it. She was bored to death the entire time.





I don't know about you, but more than once in my life I have wondered why I'd never seen a movie with Michael Ironside playing a psycho killer. As of yesterday, I need wonder no more. This 1982 slasher film was pretty entertaining, mainly thanks to Mr Ironside and relatively well done. Overall reviews are pretty negative, but before DVRing it, I read some on IMDB and the positive ones all had words like "underappreciated" and "underrated", so that plus Ironside got me to want to try it and I'm glad I did. I wouldn't buy it, but it was good fun.





I can't remember why I decided to IMDB this when I saw it on the movie channels, but I did. As soon as I saw that Michael Fassbender was in it, I hit the DVR button. Not sure why they didn't include his name in the description on the TV, but whatever. Mostly positive reviews on IMDB also encouraged me. It doesn't really bring anything new to the "couple goes on a secluded vacation and gets terrorized" genre, really, but it's still a good film. Gruesome and sort of disturbing. Definitely worth a rent, or worth DVRing if you like this type of thing.





Been wanting to see this for a while, so when it popped up on the movie channels, I DVRed the **** out of it. A simple thriller about three people who get stuck on a ski lift, but it's effective and well done. Some really nasty bits that had me wincing a bit. Another one that I'd recommend watching, but not necessarily buying.

Look, the movie was a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT. I don't even know why it's getting the reviews that it is. The plot is weak and full of holes. There is nothing interesting about a movie (I can't even call it a action/cop movie because that's not what is it) where you have a seemingly racist cop that is smart but doesn't realize that the **** he says is racist teaming up with a straight laced MINORITY partner. Hilarity ensues!! Why? Because the racist Irish cop says stuff to annoy his African American partner. Wow. That really is ****ing incredible and I'm sure it's been done before because it sure sounds familiar. It isn't creative! I LOVE Don Cheadle. Love, love, love...the fact that he's in this movie bums me out. He's playing a straight laced, by the book, well spoken FBI agent. His character lacks dimension. All of the supporting cast lack dimension. You have this American kid that just peddles about on some big wheel with his dog on a leash. And that's all I can remember.

The bad guys are ridiculous. You have this one part of the movie where they are standing around in an aquarium talking about god knows what. It's so fricken boring. And then at one point, one of them LOOKS DIRECTLY AT THE CAMERA and says something. Obviously that was intentional, but what for?!

I want to say the only remotely interesting character was Gleeson's mother.

Adgy claims that I don't like "british humor" and that's why I didn't like this movie but I think he's wrong. I enjoy plenty of british humor. The humor in this movie just SUCKS. It's not funny at all. And what's even annoying is when you have this damn woman guffawing at every damn thing in the movie. A character slams his hands down on a desk and she laughs.

15 mins into this movie and I was so bored I wanted to roll right off my seat and on to the floor of the theater. I purposefully tried to fall asleep and I couldn't. I kept on looking at my cell phone to see how much longer and I had to sit through that movie. And the whole time I kept on screaming to myself "BOBDAMN IT!! I WANTED TO SEE THE ****ING HELP!"

I really can't believe how come reviews can say that this is "laugh out loud" because I didn't do it ONCE. Don't be fooled by the 94% on RT or Adgy. You people shouldn't pay money to see this movie. I keep on telling Adgy I will pay him back for my ticket because it pisses me off that he wasted money taking me to see this movie. Because it SUCKS!! SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS!!! Had I'd know that this movie that the dude from In Bruges and it's director, I don't think I would have agreed to it. Although I will say In Bruges was a better movie - and that's saying a lot, because I didn't think that movie was all that great either.

I swear, sometimes I really hate ****ing art house movies.
