Fair enough. My apologies. But your point about wolves can apply to any other large predator type mammal. Under duress, encroaching on their habitat, extreme hunger, etc...yes, wolves(and any other animal) will do what needs be done. But this portrayal of them as a general threat to mankind is just not true. So yeah...Apologies to anyone bored by this but it's kind of an issue with me.

Agreed. And it can indeed apply to any other predator but in European fairytales of old the wolf happens to be what they used, because that is what they experienced. And since they did encroach on them and put them under duress the wolves responded. Evil? No, wolves being wolves, doing what wolves do, what any animal would do. But they scared the hell out of folks of the time.

And BTW it sort of an issue with me as well.

Off the top of my head, if you have not seen Inside or Martytrs(or even Fronteirs) you should seek them out. They are all French and all really unpleasant. Martyrs bruised my soul and I suspect it will never heal.
Thanks for the recs, will probably watch Martyrs and Inside later tonight

    Black Christmas (the original)
    A Tale Of Two Sisters
    The Human Centipede
Let The Right One In/Let Me In (they're both great)
    The Woman
Dream Home (the Chinese movie, not the recent Daniel Craig one)
    Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original)
    I Saw The Devil
    Rabid (Cronenberg)
    Cold Fish
    Nightmare Detective
    Frozen
    Thirst
    The Innocents
    Shutter (the original)
Possession (the one with Sam Neil)

That should be enough to get you started.
Thanks bro, I've seen a few on that list and loved them (I saw the Devil, Let the Right One In, Shutter, Innocents [****ing AMAZING!!], Woman, and Tale of Two Sisters). I'll check the other ones out sometime.

And I agree with your earlier post about Vanishing - that movie is ****ing amazing. Watched Dressed to Kill recently as well. Love Michael Caine, he's one of my favorites.

Also, Les Diaboliques is one of my all time favorite psychological thrillers

Watched Chronicle on the weekend and thought it was awesome. One of the best of 2012 so far.

As for the horror movie list/types "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" (unrated) I thought was just freakishly good and paranormal/supernatural. Watch it with the lights on.

Gee, Adgy, you watch a lot of swell movies. :D

I watched the Diabolique remake when it came out in the theater. I hadn't seen the original, but the remake follows the story closely, has a close up of Sharon Stone's ass, so I thought it was okay, but the original is in another league.

Les Diaboliques & Charade have the reputation of being the two best Hitchcockian films that Hitchcock didn't direct. Both are worth watching!

I haven't watched Haxan from beginning to end!

Anytime Adgy, or anyone here, however, reviews a silent film, particularly, the spooky kind, it makes me happy! :D

Just finished watching Inside - ****ing hell that movie was ****ed up!! Was pretty pumped through the whole film, loved the atmosphere. I thought I was desensitized to violence but damn some scenes made me cringe and were extremely hard to watch. I liked the film though, thanks for the recommendation JD and adgy.

    Up next - Martyrs!

    Don't do it, Diehard!

What's more soul corrupting, Matyrs or The Human Centipede?

I haven't watched either, but did watched Salo once, ugh! But I was younger then, young men never die!

Human Centipede is almost QUAINT in it's unsavory-ness. MARTYRS is so philosophically brutal and challenges your understanding of religion...it just ****s up your soul man...so brutally unrelenting.
