Yes. I guess Carrell is the king of the guy-on-guy makeover genre.

I'm at the mercy of HBO, which offers up such masterpices as Little Fockers, From Justin To Kelly, The Beautician And The Beast, Envy, Waterworld, Fatal Beauty, One Day, Stuck On You, The Flintstones In Viva Rock Vegas, Larry Crowne, and The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen, all in the next 48 hours. Shame my DVR is already so full.

A fairly normal divorced middle aged man, fed up with what the western culture has become, snaps and goes on a killing spree. If you've ever seen one of those reality TV shows where some spoiled brat cries when they get a brand new car in the wrong color for their 16th birthday and wanted to smack them around, this movie is for you. I thought it was very funny and had some interesting things to say, you should check it out.

The plot itself is very straight-forward and predictable but the relatable teenage actors(surprisingly realistic characters/emotions) and great production values make this a low budget sci-fi movie well worth a watch.

Alright... Let The Right One In... Loved it. SO loved it. Creepy, sad, haunting, beautifully shot and totally adorable all at once. I'm hesitant to watch the remake, but I will in about 10 more movies when it's up in my queue.

Next up is The Lives of Others. Really looking forward to this one.

Don't be. It hits the majority of the same notes but Reeves diffrentiates it enough and the performances are so good that it makes a tremendous argument for it's existence in spite of the obvious. Richard Jenkins is particularly terrific as the caretaker. As a matter of fact, the remake draws more from the book MOSTLY with his character. In the book, his intentions/background are so much more lurid than either movie touched upon. So much so that it actually made me put the book down.

I thought Jack Torrance was the caretaker. He's always been the caretaker.

The remake is okay. It's probably best viewed with some time after watching the first version.
