Tsk, tsk, haha! It has a good commentary track too! :D

And Claire Bloom was really hot in those days.

Ok, long story short...my first ever Famous Monsters of Filmland mag had an article on this. At the tender age of 8 it frightened the crap out of me. Never saw it...till now. Shatner/Skerrit/Borgnine(COMPLETELY AROUND THE BEND!!!!)/Ida Lupino/Keenan Wynn and a young John Travolta...directed by Robert Fuest(the Dr Phibes flicks)...and, as the splashy credit shows, with Technical Advisor Anton Svandor LeVay. Most times when you see a movie late in life that you have had this weird fascination with, it disappoints. NOT THIS TIME. Brilliantly bad. Almost magical. Borgnine is soooooooooo into his performance as the leader of a pilgrim Satanic Coven. It makes no sense mostly, but who gives a ****, it's bat**** crazy and just so loveably goofy. Oh yeah, Eddie Albert pops in to try to do some heavy lifting by talking the story into shape...no luck. The 'controversial' ending, with all the melting eyeless devotees has to be seen to be believed. The movie is 87 minutes and this scene goes on for 11 of them. Just people moaning and bubbling while weird latex oozes out of their outfits(oh yeah, and their church EXPLODES '70's style). Has a classic 'gotcha' ending too. Sadly, this movie is not really available. The copy I have is a glorified(although nice looking) bootleg. But if you can get yer mitts on a copy, and you have an appreciation for cheese, try it.

The Dolphin wants to watch this!!

    JD, have you watched this?

Apparently this issue makes a reference to this.

I have it somewhere and have to re-read it. Ted McKeever is the man!

I am not a religious person, but read a lot of scripture because the Judeo-Christian tradition has inspired so much horror!

Some of Ted McKeever's stuff is available in trades, but most of his Vertigo stuff isn't. Ebay can be your friend though!

I heard that No Morire Sola was supposed to be the Spanish version of I Spit On Your Grave but it wasn't anywhere near as intense. It has its moments but the pacing was so slow and the scenes seemed to drag on and on. I don't recommend this.
