    Heard that.

And Rollerball, really? First time? For ****s sake man. Oh and why no mention of perhaps one of the Greatest soundtracks this side of Clockwork/The Good The Bad The Ugly? Slipping, you are young Paduan.
You're not going to like this, but I don't even remember what the soundtrack sounded like.

Snow White blahblahblah was excessive. Pretty, but empty. And I kept waiting for Charlize to shout NO MORE WIRE HANGERS!!!! It was that Pacino-esque.
Pretty much. Might have been helped some with someone other than Kristen Stewart in the lead (maybe someone who can, you know, emote).

And first time for DEAD ZONE...that's CRIMINAL.
I can't help it. I was mostly brought up on Kubrick and Kurosawa type stuff. Stuff like Cronenberg and David Lynch was a little too out there for my dad, I think, and I've had to kind of discover it on my own in the last 15-20 years. So there's a lot of stuff like that, and Rollerball, that doesn't get watched until it shows up on a movie channel now. I didn't have anyone to teach me when I was a young boy. :P

I might have mentioned this about Rollerball before, but sometimes when Quickie is on the ice, I chant "Jon-a-than" in my head.

I went to see Now You See Me a few days ago. It has some of my favourite actors so I enjoyed it even though the storyline was somewhat lacking. It had a few funny lines but given the cast I was expecting more.

Also when they showed the performance scene at MGM Grand Las Vegas I was sitting there thinking: "I've really got to get to Frozen Fury one day".

Just saw Hancock and 500 days of summer. Hancock was ok. 500 days was way better than expected. I actually liked it.

In theatres, I saw Instructions Not Included. I LOVED the cameos. If you heard Mexicans laughing for no reason, it was probably a cameo. It was a good movie that tugged at the ole heartstrings.

Just saw Gravity. A waste of time and money. You want top see space? Look up at night. Just as entertaining as this movie.

But I've heard it was like the best thing since sliced bread. Why was it so bad ? I am honestly curious.

I think expectations have a lot to do with it. They marketed it as if it was some deep, thought-provoking movie. It was actually a very well done B-movie. The heroine is in peril - and then she improbably escapes. Rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat.

If you go in expecting a fun popcorn flick and amazing visuals, you should not be disappointed. It was absolutely gorgeous and I enjoyed it for what it was.

I will tell you why this movie is a fail. Sandra Bullock. Besides Clooney, who basically has an extended cameo, she is the entire focal point of the movie. And yes, I feel horrible saying this BECAUSE she seems like such a lovely woman, but the reason why Jesse James cheated is the same reason she cannot carry a movie. She is exciting as dry white toast. She has two emotions in this movie, fear and furrowed brow despondence. And NEITHER of them are convincing in the least.

The movie is also filled with plot holes and constant against all odds rescues. To the point that it takes you completely out of the movie. I had deep seated fears that were triggered by this movie, but eventually even I checked out. It maintains absolutely no chance of danger. Oh and plot holes galore. So they train a DR(Bullock) for 6 months to be an astronaut because she is the best to work on this system they are installing on a satellite. Sorry, have to figure learning the intricacies of space travel is harder than learning how to install a new system. Stupidity abounds too(SPOILER ALERT)

(SPOILER ALERT) Clooney's character has to feel REALLY dumb for pfutzin around and wasting fuel on his jetpack when he can't save himself

    (END SPOILERS)

Cuaron seems more intent on visuals than story or character, and in a singular movie like this that is the biggest crime. And the visuals aren't all that exciting. Lame 3d coming atcha effects(really...really) as well as some really insulting stereotypes (Chess piece floating on Russian space station and a ****ing ping pong paddle...a PING PONG PADDLE floating on the Chinese one).
It's all wrapped up neatly with yet another defying all reason/odds moment with

SPOILER ALERT Sandra Bullock having a life affirming moment about the random death of her daughter(geez can you try any harder to generate melodramatic sympathy)

    END SPOILER ALERT

Case of the Emperors New Clothes. Instantly forgettable and people are raving simply because of the mass hypnosis effect that this is some sort of game changer. Like Space itself...airless piffle. Your results may vary(but not if you are honest).

    What a ****ing trip!!!!!!
Just soooooo much more than the original/ ****ed up crazy ass Bond flick wrapped in dirty mExploitation and filled with stunt casting and EAT A BAG OF _ _ _cks Hollywood. You can make a fun, intentionally bad movie. Last year the Man with the Iron Fists made me smile through a whole movie. And this year I got this. Demian Bechir is terrific...really embracing where he is. And, so did Mel Gibson...between this and Get The Gringo I am having a hard time not liking old Mel. GO SEE. Go with it and let yerself get caught up in the silly. Cannot wait for MACHETE Kills Again...IN SPACE.

Have not had this much fun since CRANK 1/2...so now you know what to expect.
