There's going to be a new, spiffy DVD release of that sometime early next year I'm told.

Wings of Desire is one of the great movies, period. Amazingly beautiful and quite powerful. It's a crime against cinema that some studio felt it was a good idea to Americanize it.

I'll be honest. "Wings of Desire" was just ok for me (I'm dead inside, what can I say?) and I haven't seen "Berlin Alexanderplatz." It's just sooo long. I know I should take the time to see it.

Aaahhhh Solveig Dommartin.... may she rest in peace. DAMN she was too sexy in WOD. BTW gescom, do you happen to own either the Italian or German 280 min. release of Until The End Of The World? If so, we need to talk....

See, that surprises me. Not that you're dead inside () but that you couldn't maybe identify with a few of the lonelier characters. But also viewing time, place and mood could make a difference with this one. For me the effect was beyond profound. Guess I caught the right combo of the above. But then again, even after a dozen times it still gets me.

Missed it in the theater, but finally arrived via netflix:

Adgy, I see now why you were pimping it so hard. It was an EXTREMELY entertaining and well done movie. Wow. Different and much better than I'd expected. Even the monster effects were pretty damn solid. Packed solid with action and humor those two hours slid by effortlessly. We really, REALLY enjoyed it.

    Lawrence of Arabia.

I finally took 3 hours 47 minutes out of my life to watch this legendary film. I must say it lived up to all the hype and then some. I'd say it is the greatest achievement in "epic" filmmaking that I've ever witnessed.

nah... hell i can't even find the plain ol' ordinary, American release VHS tape around anymore (honestly though, i haven't looked all that hard for it).

there is so much s*** going on with that movie and all the what to do's? changing from week to week, i'll be fine with an initial release on DVD being just the movie... they can work on how to go about dealing with the 6-hours and i'll buy THAT one whenever they release it.
