The LGK Movie of the Month Club

Ok. This idea was brought to me by HIPCHECK(thankyousir) and inspired by the heated discussion that YEAR ONE generated. So, here it is in a nutshell. We put 5 movies up for a vote. Prelim ideas has been for it to be 4 classics, or at least very mainstream flicks, and one notsomuch that is in heavy rotation on one of the various pay movie channels. Like Year one. We give a 1 or 2 week window for interested parties to netflix/BB/DirecTv/Cable it...and then another 2 week window where a discussion ensues.
As always...I am only a conduit. You all need to weigh in with ideas/tweaks and we will shape it together. It has been great on this forum lately because a LOT of people have really been letting their voices be heard. DON'T STOP NOW.

I'm in though I have no idea how we would pick which movies to vote for. Draw from a hat?

No. It would be a group of five...set up as a poll. One week vote. Unless someone has a suggestion. The 5 would be chosen/suggested by myself and Hipcheck with an eye towards voter suggestions. My personal opinion is that the more middle-of-the-road flick will generate more opinions. Who is going to really be disagreeable towards a flick like Good, the Bad and the Ugly? Besides Boobytrap. We have to keep that in mind. This is a thread in progress.

This sounds like fun.

For what it's worth, stuff like "Independence Day" comes around a lot from time to time. That is one that I usually stop and watch for awhile.

Doc, go ahead and insult me. I know it's all in fun.

See...why does it have to be personal. You are a smart mf'r Doc. I honestly believe that you can insult a person more through insinuation than low brow name calling. You are better than that.

I'm in. I suggest any 80's horror flick. Always. :)
