    Default Superhero Resume

He was panned in is outing as Daredevil but received high praise as 1950's Superman, George Reeves, in Hollywoodland. He was even rumored to have been pursued to direct the Justice League movie. It'll be interesting to see how he'll do as the Dark Knight in Snyder's MoS sequel. Heck, maybe he and Zack Snyder can share in the directing duties.

I'm cautiously optimistic. He's grown on me quite a bit as a director and he was pretty solid in Argo. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure this Batman will be a secondary character in the movie, allowing him to ease into the role in the Justice League one they're no doubt prepping for.

Michigan can probably use the money.

Or, maybe they wanted to use a city that already looks demolished for their post-man Of Steel Metropolis? #rimshot

Zack Snyder Suggests Metropolis Casualties in ‘Man of Steel’ Enhance a Sense of Myth

Snyder said the following to the Japan Times:

I wanted the movie to have a mythological feeling. In ancient mythology, mass deaths are used to symbolize disasters. In other countries like Greece and Japan, myths were recounted through the generations, partly to answer unanswerable questions about death and violence. In America, we don’t have that legacy of ancient mythology. Superman is probably the closest we get. It’s a way of recounting the myth.

A few things. One, mass deaths don’t symbolize disasters — they ARE disasters. And the “unanswerable questions” that myths once tried to answer are now mostly, well, answered. So myth has a different role now than it once did. (We know, for example, why people die in Man of Steel. Because: punching. And because Superman never takes the fight elsewhere.)
