I know both have done despicable things, but that has no effect on their work.

The odd thing is that their respective personal histories have a way of adding weight to their films subject matter.

Completely agree but I was trying to be very vague about specific details of the story....

I went in knowing nothing about it and I think it's a far better experience that way.

No. I watched both of those before I knew about what he'd done and I thought they were both fantastic, but... that's it for me. I absolutely acknowledge the man's talent, and if I went over to your house and you were watching one of his flicks, I wouldn't walk out of the room or anything, but I would definitely prefer not to see it and I won't give him any of my money.

Same for Victor Salva.

What, for crimes committed against a ham sandwich? Funny how Owen Wilson has a hall pass(see what I did there) for trying to off hisself because Kate Hudson wouldn't return his calls. Does anyone even remember that? He did a good job recovering from that. Still, it's not the same as leaving your woman for her adopted daughter. Sorry Doc, but even if 'the heart wants what the heart wants', if you have ever been in a situation where you were with someone that had kids from a previous life, you might understand just how awful what Woody did was. They do Maury shows on **** like that.
