It would be great to use it as a tool expand one's musical horizons, debate the classics, or opine on new releases.
I would be perfectly happy to start with Tindersticks II, as I've been so far unsuccessful in trying to get into them, and perhaps it would force me to.
I'm not knocking your thread at all - I just think the movies selected so far are too "safe" and too widely seen to evoke any real, genuine response - it seems liek it is defeating the purpose. I'd love to watch something I haven't seen before, maybe out of our collective comfort zone, and see where it takes us.
I listed that GnR album because it was everybody and their brother has heard it to death. There is nothing left to discuss, other than to reminisce about the times you heard it.
And for the record, I have like 90 some odd Something Weird Video dvds, and you should see my cd collection. I am as low-brow as it gets, and not in the ironic hipster way.
Man, did I ever LOVE Gn'R in high school...
But hey, if nobody else thinks it would be kinda fun to, for example, really get into it with gescom as to why he thinks Muse's Absolution sucks, I can live with that.
Guns and Roses.....I haven't heard any of their albums...just never interested me...seemed to me to be a retread of Aerosmith who were a retread of the Stones.
We going to provide download links or something to go with the album of the week/month? How's everyone going to hear it?
Also, would we be voting? Because that's going to be tough to get any kind of consensus on probably.
I just want to make everyone have to listen to a whole Masonna disc. Is that so bad?
