Trent Reznor Wants Pretty Hate Machine Reissue Boycott
I saw that on a list of stuff coming out and I was thinking "didn't they already release a remaster?"Trent Reznor has asked fans to ignore the recent reissue of his Nine Inch Nails album Pretty Hate Machine. A recent Twitter message favored the approach of a boycott.
The messgae at the Trent Reznor Twitter (@trent_reznor) reads "NIN fans, don't waste your money on this version of PHM that was just released." He went on to say "... a record label bull**** move repackaging the old version. Ignore please.
The notes from the catalog release read "US re-release from 2011, very similar to original TVT version. This is not a remastered release."
Sonic Youth's 1991: The Year That Punk Broke Gets DVD Action with Missing 'Rogue' Video Vignette
I used to love that tape. Haven't seen it in years. May purchase DVD.Now twenty years on from the year that it chronicled, Sonic Youth's ambitious video project 1991: The Year Punk Broke will see a DVD offering for the first time with new footage and enhanced audio and video quality.
1991: The Year Punk Broke will feature new footage from both Sonic Youth and Nirvana. The biggie is an unreleased video vignette titled “(This Is Known As) The Blues Scale,” which has over 40 minutes of additional live video of the Sonic Youth songs “Eric’s Trip,” “Chapel Hill,” the seminal “White Kross” and “Inhuman.” New features also include a rare Nirvana performance of the song “In Bloom.”

Björk reveals Biophilia artwork, configurations « Consequence of Sound
That’s not all though; Björk is now accepting pre-orders for Biophilia and, of course, there are a variety of configurations to consider. The album will be available on CD, LP, and digitally. There’s also ‘The Biophilia Manual,’ which is a “48-page, full-color, hardbound, cloth-covered, and thread-sewn book, tipped on lenticular panel to the front cover, with foil-blocked spine and back cover; the music is housed in black uncoated board wallets.”
Wait, you have $800 to spend? Try the ‘Ultimate Edition’…
The Biophilia Ultimate Edition, presented in a lacquered and silkscreened oak-hinged lid case, consists of the Biophilia Manual along with 10 chrome-plated tuning forks, silkscreened on one face in 10 different colors, stamped at the back, and presented in a flocked tray. Each fork is adjusted to the tone of a Biophilia track, covering a complete octave in a non-conventional scale. It will be made to order and fabricated only once; each case comes with an individual numbered certificate.
Pre-order your preference at Nonesuch Records’ webstore. The album is due for release on September 27th.
