I like the Joe Pelone one on 1/18. We bought that Happiest Baby on the Block book and the dvd. While the 5 S's are definitely try-worthy, that guy made it look so freakin easy. I can't count how many times I've been shushing or swinging while he is breaking out of his swaddle.

Also, the Rock-A-Bye BS piece made me feel really bad about myself, since I have the Def Leppard, Kiss, and Bob Marley rock-a-bye cd's. I think it was more nostalgia, as the cd's really aren't that good. Or I'm just a super poser dad.

haha, ya for me personally, some of these stories are very dad-centric (like as a mother, i see/experience things differently), but it is interesting to see what old acquaintances are up to.

oh man, the 5Ss never worked for me. i swaddled her every time i put her to bed, but that was to keep her from waking herself up by flailing her arms in her sleep. swaddling, putting her on her side, swinging her and especially shushing did s*** to get her to stop crying. she never took to a pacifier so that clearly didn't help either. oh well, she's a surprisingly easy toddler though. i just had the flu and pretty much camped out on the recliner the last 5 days with her next to me in her sleeping bag on the floor.

as for the rock-a-bye compilations, i only have the bjork one because my MIL liked bjork so she bought it for us but then was disappointed that it was all instrumental. i never listened to it though, it's still sitting in my CD rack. i didn't find out until recently there were other ones and my old BFF from high school said she'd send me the no doubt one. hahaha.

yeah. our guy is hit or miss on a pacifier. Right now he's at the stage where he won't go to sleep at night without being in a swaddle, but when we put him in will do any and everything possible to get out of said swaddle.

Man. Has it really been since 2007 that Qotsa have released an album. Sounds like they are all in on this one. I expect the wait to be well worth it. Now we just need another Eagles of Death Metal and life is grand.

never got into them. i think i've seen them on the bill for a few shows back in the day though. fat wreck band described as melodic punk... i might give it a listen even though i'm more into melodic hardcore...
