    Ambient:

Brian Eno - Ambient 1 (most all of Eno's Ambient stuff is pretty good)

Bass Communion - Ghosts On Magnetic Tape (other BC albums might be better for you, depending on taste, but I love the haunting quality on this one)

Scorn - Colossus (might give you ****ed up dreams)

Aidan Baker - I Wish Too To Be Absorbed (a lot of his stuff is recommended, but this is a good starting point)

    Cliff Martinez - Solaris OST

Grouper - Dragging A Dead Deer Up A Hill (not exactly ambient, but I like this one a lot)

Lustmord - The Place Where Black Stars Hang (DARK and pretty minimal, not for everyone. All Lustmord qualifies equally, IMO)

Emeralds - Does It Look Like I'm Here (feels very Tangerine Dream to me, if that helps.)

Mono & World's End Girlfriend - Palmless Prayer/Mass Murder Refrain (not ambient, but gorgeous. Might have trouble sleeping because it's so excellent, you'll want to stay awake and listen to the whole thing)

You might also consider some modern classical stuff by guys like:

    Max Richter
    Johann Johannsson
    Ludovico Einaudi
    Peter Broadrick
    Nico Muhly
    Goldmund
    Sylvain Chaveau

All of it might also work, depending on your preference.
