I'm probably going to go see it on Sunday, finally. It is supposed to make good use of 3D. Did any of you guys see in 3D? Worth it?

I saw it in 3D @ Arclight on Monday, and I hated their glasses. I need to go see it in IMAX up here now that I'm back.
That's the way I did it, and I am very glad. Visually stunning. The story was not earthshaking, but certainly not terrible. Overall, very enjoyable. Now I have to read up on some of the stuff with the spoilers and "WTF did that mean?" posts.
One thing that bugged was Guy Pierce - why put a young guy in old man make up when you could just cast an old guy? I don't get it.
Also, as was pointed out by Neil DeGrasse Tyson, when she says "half a billion miles" that's way off - that would put them in the middle of the solar system.
Just in case you haven't read "Childhood's End" by Arthur C. Clarke, it is a must.

SPOILERS
I just saw it today and thought it was pretty good, mostly from the techno-horror standpoint. Ridley Scott's attempt to inject deeper questions into the material mostly fell flat for me.
I did have a huge problem with Charlize losing her mind at the end (as alluded to in the comic). How hard would it have been to just let her make it onto the emergency ship with Shaw and then get killed by the Engineer? Instead her death was almost laughable. I do like the theory that she is an android too, and the sequel will need more characters.
Not sure why David the android felt the need to infect Shaw's boyfriend and get her pregnant with an alien monster. When it was happening I thought it had to do with Weyland's plan (I realized Weyland was on the ship when they showed David alone in a room with a stasis chamber), but then we find Weyland's plan was to go talk to the Engineer, so unless Paul Resier from Aliens programmed David, I don't get it.
Visually the movie was amazing, from the opening shots during the credits to the technology and the creatures. Not sure why an advanced space travelling civilization would build such irregular tunnels. Also not sure why Shaw never felt the need to say anything about the fact that she just removed an alien monster from her womb when she ran into people afterward.
The first two deaths were fantastic and deeply icky. The fight with the infected victim was also great, more in the vein of Aliens (the second movie) with the firepower and fighting in a loading bay. I'd love to see some more of those infected humans in the sequel, but again there is only one human left in the story.
