BD Horror News - More 'Alien' Sequels Inevitable? 'Prometheus' Inside Info.

In a question and answer session over at Moviehole, editor-in-chief Clint Morris revealed that's he's been privy to a of behind-the-scenes chatter for Twentieth Century Fox's Prometheus, the rumored prequel to Ridley Scott's Alien that's now filming for release in 2012.

During his rant, he drops the bomb that a sequel to the original quadrilogy is planned:

"...the "Alien" series will continue – in another form. I don't know much, but I've heard whispers that sequels (to the original quadrilogy – Ripley's story) might be back on the cards; the whole ‘Alien Planet' idea is still very much something everyone over at Fox and Scott Free are interested in. You ain't see[n] the last of Facehugger."

A few weeks ago it was revealed that creature designer Neville Page was boarding Ridley Scott's Prometheus.

MTV caught up to the man at the Green Lantern premiere to squeeze some quotes out of him about his approach to the film.

"My approach is nervous. I approach Ridley with great nervous energy because it is such an undertaking. ['Alien'] was the movie that inspired everything for me, not just creature design, but filmmaking in general," he tells the site. "It is a huge undertaking to try and take it to the next level; to make Ridley proud, to make [H.R.] Giger proud, there's a lot involved with that."

It has been reported that Giger is involved as a creative consultant.

Today is Speak in Broad Strokes About Prometheus Day. For some, it may be a cause for celebration since the project thrived for months on misinformation and double speak. First we believed it to be a strict Alien prequel, then two prequels, then one prequel again. Oh, but it isn’t really an Alien prequel, except that it kinda is in the sense that it’s set in the same universe prior to the events of Alien, as scripter Damon Lindelof emphasized earlier today. Glean from that what you will.

Cool to hear this is actually happening with Ridley Scott at the helm... I would have preferred even more of a "character actor" level/unknown cast, which greatly benefited the original Alien as far as connection with the audience went.

Wow...you have been gone for a while...Elba, Fassbender and some of the other 'less promoted' names...this is going to be a character actor driven cast...oh yeah, Guy Pearce is in it too...howz that for character actor????

Yeah, guess you're right... by the time this is released even the "high profile" names will have been even more distanced from their glory days.
