I told Best Buy to bite me in 1999. I knew eventually they'd get theirs. Douches.

Avoid the over priced cable scam, people. Monoprice is king for cables and AV accessories. Dirt cheap, and really good quality.

Edit: Forgot to mention, their distribution center is located somewhere in So Cal. You pretty much get one or two day delivery with the cheapest shipping option.

one thing I did really like about Tower (and for the record Tempo Music in northridge) was the people who worked there. It was often instant comedy and entertainment

I still have a "Tower Records Northridge. We're Rockin!" t shirt I got in 1996 when scoring the first wrist band in line for weenie roast, as a token of appreciation for helping to clean up trash before the employees would sell tickets. Rock!

You bet, add Blue Jeans Cable -- Quality Cables at Reasonable Prices to that list also.

Who wants to hire me out? And you won't hafta go to Best Buy.

Years, ago, I use to frequent Best Buy and buy a movie or two. Those were good days.

And I really miss Tower Records, despite the expensive prices, but they did have good sales every now. The irony here, haha, is that I could afford music more as a Teen than now. That's called downward mobilty.

New Dishwasher? I'll be lucky when I can buy new dish washing gloves.
I'd hire you. The Lady is a terrible dishwasher and I just plain hate doing it. How much do you charge?

I pretty much agree with everything about BB said in this thread.

But in the spirit of giving credit where credit is due I must say the Best Buy store in Fullerton (Imperial and Harbor) is still pretty cool. It must be a throwback or something because the last two times I bought a major purchases, a printer and then a fridge, the people who helped me knew their stuff and were helpfull. As for music, I usually frequent a local independant shop but once in a while if I am in the area I will hit the Best Buy. It seems to have a bigger CD section than the other stores and it is well organized and well stocked. Granted, it is not a diverse as the shop I frequent and on some of the non-mainstream bands you have to get there within a week of the release or you risk it "selling out" but it is much better than most other BBs.Cool thing is a few times I have been looking for a release they don't have they have offered to order it, ship it to the store, and then call me, saving me the shipping. I tell them I'm sure how soon I can be back and they say not to worry, they will hold it for me.

And the CD that raised JD's ire? I walked in last Friday and as I hit the CD section a sales dude asked "Can I help you find something in particular?" I asked for the new Motörhead
cd. "Ah, yes! Right here! Do you want the regular CD or the deluxe edition?" I took the deluxe.

So Best Buy sucks but the one by me sucks a whole lot less!

Yeah, well I went on New Release Tuesday what? 4 weeks ago...so yeah, they probably have it at my BB by now too, and if not...THEY CAN ORDER IT FOR YOU! Cause I put shoes on to do something I could do while sitting around my house. Yeah...dead to me.
