'Secrets & Lies' Oscar Nominee Marianne Jean-Baptiste Joins 'RoboCop' | The Playlist
ANOTHER nice addition to this already impressive cast.
It's gonna be a hot plate of pendejadas, lol!
When this movie comes out and kicks ass, you guys will owe me beer.
Meh! At the horror message board that I hang out, when the rumor that Robocop was gonna be remade, we talked about which director could make this interesting. I think we agreed that only the likes of David Cronenberg and Shinya Tsukamoto could make this interesting.
OMG! Could you imagine a Shinya Tsukamoto Robocop? We are a pretentious bunch on said board, but dammit, couls Robocop just be made all sorts of weird and interesting.
I just keep seeing the Total Recall remake in this Robocop remake. Boring.
I have a feeling that the lowered expectations are actually going to have a lot of folks changing their minds on this one. Not ready to buy a shirt, but I have guarded optimism.
The two Jose Padihla movies I've seen are enough to get me excited. He's a perfect choice for this kind of movie.
My only concern at this point is about studio interference.
Daniel Stamm to Unleash an Angry Little God for Dimension | Horror Movie, DVD, & Book Reviews, News, Interviews at Dread Central
Nice. The original is pretty tasty. From the Press Release
Dimension Films has announced its acquisition of U.S. distribution rights to the psychological thriller ANGRY LITTLE GOD from director Daniel Stamm (The Last Exorcism). IM Global will finance and produce the film, an English-language remake of the Thai thriller 13: GAME OF DEATH, alongside Brian Kavanaugh-Jones of Automatik and Kiki Miyake. Jason Blum of Blumhouse (SINISTER, INSIDIOUS, PARANORMAL ACTIVITY) will executive produce with Somsak Techaratanaprasert.
Stamm and his writing partner, David Birke, adapted the script from the original film, which follows a bright but meek social services coordinator who's drowning in debt and desperate as he's about to marry the love of his life. He receives a mysterious phone call informing him that he's on a hidden camera game show where he must execute 13 tasks to receive a cash prize of over $6,000,000. He accepts the challenge, but even with thousands of dollars suddenly appearing in his bank account, he realizes he's in over his head. Trapped into the horrors manipulated by unseen spectators, his need to complete the game escalates as the tasks grow more extreme to a devastating point of no return.
