Ok...so here is a comprehensive RedBand trailer...plays like a greatest hits reel. I like the way it looks...EXCEPT for the WB approved cast. It stopped the eye rolling that the idea of a remake of one of the most iconic horror flicks inspired in me, but it doesn't look groundbreaking. It looks like it will be the equivalent of Chinese food, that you will forget about it an hour after watching. But...I am not the audience for this. This is basically being made for a younger crowd who have heard of, yet missed the original and the hype that followed. It's the 'colorization' of movies all over again.

Evil Dead Director Promises His Remake Doesn't Have A Single Drop Of CG In It - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

We didn’t do any CGI in the movie. There’s no CGI in the movie. Everything you will see is real, which was really demanding. This was a very long shoot, 70 days of shooting at night. There’s a reason people use CGI it’s cheaper and faster, I hate that. We researched a lot of magic tricks and illusion tricks. [Like] how you would make someone’s arm disappear.
A point in this film's favor there.

Actually, I'm looking forward to this. Even moreso now. Might have to throw the original on tonight.

MGM Set To Reboot The Classic 'Ben-Hur' | Geeks of Doom

    before you start getting riled...

But this movie will not be a remake of the Heston version. MGM sold the rights to that film to Ted Turner in the ’80s, and bought a re-adaptation of Wallace’s original work, written by Keith Clarke, which is now part of the public domain.

The new take on the story will follow Judah Ben-Hur and Messala as childhood friends that eventually become bitter enemies. It will also include parallel storylines, one focusing on Ben-Hur and the other on Jesus Christ, whose paths cross multiple times. All of this culminates in the iconic chariot race showdown between Ben-Hur and Messala, as well as the death sentence given to Christ by Pontius Pilate.

The new Ben-Hur is yet another biblical epic in what’s soon going to be commonplace as your local cinema. Other biblical flicks that are on the way include Darren Aronofsky’s Noah starring Russell Crowe as the man who would build an ark, Pontius Pilate possibly starring Brad Pitt, and a pair of movies about Moses currently being developed with Steven Spielberg and Ridley Scott as potential directors.

There Might Be A ‘Gremlins’ Reboot Coming Our Way… | | Bloody DisgustingBloody Disgusting

Warner Bros. and Amblin might soon be dining after midnight. A few months back I spoke to original Gremlins director Joe Dante about the prospect of either a sequel or a reboot to the franchise. Things looked slightly different then and he was somewhat circumspect about the idea.

At the time Dante stated, “I haven’t had any formal talks, or even informal talks, with them about it. It’s a title in their library that sooner or later will be re-exploited. You can’t obviously do a sequel to the second picture because the cast is too old and I don’t know that that’s the way they’re thinking. I think they’d probably reboot the whole thing and start all over or go in a different direction – take the Gremlins someplace else… I do know that there have been attempts at Gremlins pictures. I know that people have gone in with pitches, but nothing has caught their eye. But I’m not positive that it’s entirely Warner Brothers’ decision. Because it’s an Amblin project, it probably has to be signed off on by Spielberg.”

But now (via Vulture) that last piece may have finally fallen into place. Head inside for more…

Per Vulture, “Our sources tell us that, in keeping with Hollywood’s mandated pop culture recycling program, Warner Bros. Pictures is negotiating with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment to reboot their 1984 horror comedy, Gremlins.
We’re also told negotiations of this sort have happened several times over the years, but making Spielberg’s deal always proved too daunting… our sources tell us that it might just actually come off this time.”

If Spielberg give the thumbs up, I have no doubt that this would be made. I’d hope that Joe Dante would be involved, but I’d say that the actual chances of that happening are, sadly, slim. It’s also worth noting that this kind of news circles around every so often. Time will tell if Vulture’s sources are legit or not.
Ok...I don't need this. It will get done with none of the humor and cgi gremlins. Whatever...let the raping of all things great and fun commence.
