Red And Battleship Writers Erich And Jon Hoeber Writing American Remake Of The Raid - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

    Wait, what?!

Evans himself has long been attached to direct this do-over, which likely means the film will retain its brutal violence, not to mention the incredible action choreography, staging and editing.
    Oh, well... ok, I guess.

DreamWorks To Remake Hirokazu Kore-eda's Cannes Prize Winning 'Like Father, Like Son' | The Playlist

According to Deadline, DreamWorks is negotiating the rights to a "Like Father, Like Son" remake with Fuji TV. Written and directed by Koreeda ("After Life," "Nobody Knows"), the original film follows an ambitious Japanese family who discovers that there was a mix-up at the hospital all those years ago and their 6 year-old is not their biological son. They track down the other boy and a touching drama ensues about nature vs. nurture, parenting and identity. If/when Dreamworks and Fuji TV strike a deal, Spielberg would be donning just the producer's cap, not looking to direct the film himself.
I haven't seen the original, but it sounds like Kore-eda's bread and butter. Gonna have to track it down.

Warner Bros Eyes 'Island Of Dr. Moreau' - Deadline.com

Good lord...it's like every other decade they have to have ANOTHER go at this. The Brando one will forever be the high watermark as far as just being fantastically odd. Man, it was amazing that that got released...do yourself a favor...see it.

I really wish DJ wouldn't take every part he gets offered. At best this will be a likeable and forgettable 90 minutes.

OOOOh...I dunno. Looks like Samuel L and Michael Keaton in a scenery chewing contest. I like the nod to the old school look but it's so hard not to feel MEH about this.

Yeah, I agree. I really would like it to succeed, as you know, because I love the director's Elite Squad movies, but... I dunno. It being PG-13 isn't helping my expectations.
