Did you see the first one Doc. It managed to be better than expectations. I would worry a bit about this one if Matt Reeves didn't pick up the baton from Rupert Wyatt. Still, I wish they would go back to the practical effects, but that's just a 'me' issue.

I was in New Orleans last month(visit there often) and took some other visiting relatives along with one of those cheesy tourist city bus tours. They drove us past the Warehouse/Business District downtown where they have a whole square block of the town blocked off for filming this movie. It is set up to resemble a city block in San Francisco, with the urban area overrun by vegetation to suit the apes' living conditions.

Comic-Con: Highlights from the DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES Interview with Director Matt Reeves and Stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke and Keri Russell
The footage for this was UNBELIEVABLE. I think they hit another one out of the park. From Gary Oldman leading the resistance from treehouses...to the fade in to Caeser's warpainted face, this looked awesome. I trust Matt Reeves.

Don't mess with an ape in war paint. You have been warned!
