Thread: Rob Zombie to make movie about the Broad Street Bullies

Zombie got the rights to the team’s story and has the full support of the Flyers organization. He likened the tone of the tale to Rocky meets Boogie Nights on ice. “Each character involved is more outrageous than the next,” Zombie said. “The backdrop of the turbulent year of 1974 is perfect for this ‘stranger than fiction’ sports tale.”

Don't get your heart set on it. RZ does tend to lose interest just as quicky as he gains it. I won't believe Lords of Salem(which is finished filming) is actually coming out till it does. The man is frustrating.

Oh no JD, don't pull my heart strings. I figure a true hockey fan and fellow season seat holder would make a great hockey movie...

see Tyrannosaurus Rex(or whatever it was called), The Blob(remade for the 3rd time) and a few others I cannot even remember. He announces and abandons almost as many projects as Tarentino. Personally, I think it's a nice change of pace for him to go to a rowdy sports comedy...even if it is gonna be another return to the 70's that he is sooooo comfy in. I already look forward to a cast filled with a who's who of b/c level actors who will get a deserved break from the convention circuit. Don't know how Danny Trejo and Ken Foree are gonna work into a 70's era hockey flick...we shall see. Meanwhile Malcolm McDowell is sitting by his phone.

I kid...but yeah, I'd almost like to see this happen.
