Well, for the record, I read the series monthly when it was coming. I remember the last two issues taking forever to come out.

Oh, and despite the films shortcomings, I would argue with anybody that the film one ups the comics by having Dorian Gray who wasn't in the comics at all.

That movie is a travesty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for Zombie, let's not all forget about this baby:

Because it was tons of fun. Fair to say he was stepping out of his normal type of movie with this? And that he succeeded?

I still hold out hope for Lords Of Salem. It's an original story and it seems low budget enough that he doesn't have to worry so much about studio expectations/interference (though I don't recall reading much about that either way), so I'm hoping, nay expecting him to shine.

We'll see.

Wait? What? Stepping out of his comfort zone????? It was a cartoon, based on a comic he wrote, about big boobs, monsters and lucha libre wrestlers voiced by the usual assortment of 'guest' voices, including Sheri Moon. How in the **** was that out of his comfort zone? Now an Ivory Merchant flick...that's out of his comfort zone.

Well, it was animated and not about white trash characters...

I think he's making movies like he made his music. Same ingredients, same mold, add a different spice just so not to make an exact copy and then slap a new pic/logo on the package and ship it.

That being said, I'll still check out what comes out of his kitchen.
