I can't even begin to express my hatred of the fact that Guns 'N Roses get nominated on their first year of eligibility, and last year Beastie Boys and Red Hot Chili Peppers did...but it takes 6 years for the Cure, who have influenced more than all of those bands combined.

I want to see the Faces get in too. They wrote one of the best Rock tunes EVER...

Donna Summer, Eric B. & Rakim, and Rufus? really? This isn't the hip hop and disco hall of fame, change the name of the museum if you are going to call those acts rock.

Pat Benatar is a much better musician than Joan Jett, no KISS still (almost 40 years since their first album), Moody Blues, Boston, or Three Dog Night. The list goes on and on.

Poor Moody Blues.

i'll agree that joan jett is not that great of a musician (subjective as that is) but i think she was pretty influential in the punk (rock) genre for females.

happy the cure got nominated as i know it means a lot to some of my friends and i really liked them a lot when i was a teenager in high school.

The Rock N Roll HOF has become a bit of a joke.

But either way, I like the fact that The Cure has been nominated. And Heart has definitely been more influential in the female rocker department than Joan Jett.

Now if we can get Siouxsie & the Banshees nominated...

And I don't have anything against Eric B. & Rakim as rock? Seriously?

I gave you a LIKE for the Faces comment alone. All the rest was rubbish. G'n'R really didn't influence much...not like the Cure, who the only good thing that came out of them influence wise was Gaiman's SANDMAN. Please.Hate on Guns all you want but has there ever been a fire that has burned so bright for such a short time and left such a trail of scorched earth? I say no. And **** all y'all I still say Chinese Democracy is a helluvan album.

oh, and the pop,rap,soul & disco hall of fame is and will continue to be even less relevant than the purchased stars on the walk of fame.
