RIP to Roger Ebert. Grew up watching his and Siskel's show every weekend.
"I'll see you at the movies" was the last line of that blog post. Very fitting that it was the last line he ever wrote.
RIP to one of my favorite critics. Loved reading his reviews of classic great movies.
RIP Roger, usually got a good idea if I would like a movie or not based on his reviews.Quote:
No good movie is too long and no bad movie is short enough
My weekend in Champaign-Urbana with Roger Ebert
Another good one...you can get the sense of generosity that Ebert had, and this line
really sums it up.Quote:
The balcony is well and truly closed.
Roger Ebert's 20 Most Epic Movie Pans
"Battlefield Earth is like taking a bus trip with someone who has needed a bath for a long time. It's not merely bad; it's unpleasant in a hostile way."
"Those who think Transformers is a great or even a good film are, may I tactfully suggest, not sufficiently evolved."
"Here's a science-fiction film that's an insult to the words 'science' and 'fiction,' and the hyphen in between them."
"The Last Airbender is an agonizing experience in every category I can think of and others still waiting to be invented."
"I had a colonoscopy once, and they let me watch it on TV. It was more entertaining than The Brown Bunny."
Yeah, he could be a real bitch when he wanted to be... :cry:man, RIP.
