Not that anyone is sweating it yet...it would appear that once again the powers that be promised something they could not deliver. The hotel choice confirmation emails said that the selection notices would go out no later than...well, today. Judging by the folks freaking out on their facebook page NOBODY has received any notification of choices/request for deposit emails yet.
here was my response...
**** you. Seriously. I have no fear that we will get something, but this is just another example of a **** system getting worse/not better.Dear Comic-Con Guest,

Kindest Regards,
yeah. much like i said last year, you have a group of people running this huge thing like it's not a huge thing. i was fortunate that I ended up getting a place (not on my list and a mile out but it's something), but they really really REALLY need to get their **** together. this is unacceptable at this point. it's been three years of them screwing something up in some fashion or other and it's really a shame. they either need new people running it, or someone to recognize that things are out of control.
Yeah, I am pretty disgusted with the whole affair. I was so relieved after waiting for 5 hours and stressing the hell out with the reward of getting tickets at the con for this year. Thought all my troubles were over. And now, the frigging hotels are as hard to get as the tickets if not more so. Seems pretty ridiculous. I would imagine that a lot of ticket holders do not have rooms. How can that be? They should have more than enough rooms to go around...it's not as if they do not know what the capacity is. It really is a new cluster**** every year. The general excuse is 'hey, they are trying' well it's once a year. There isn't a lot of room for trial and error. You are right...it's not a mom and pop affair anymore, something that is apparently lost on the powers that be.
My guess with the hotel rooms is this:
The hotels allotted a certain amount of "discounted" (and I use that terms so ****ing liberally here) rooms to sell. The rest will be released on the general sale on the 10th. Probably at a higher rate, but also likely many more rooms that are available. It's BS, but I'm betting that's what happens. So, the place you wanted will be there to pick up, but you'll be paying another 10-15% on top of the previous rate. Since they know people will rush to get them, they'll make an even better profit now.
