    Chillerama Blu-ray

    Chillerama Blu-ray

Posted October 11, 2011 07:01 PM by Josh Katz

Image EntertainmentImage Entertainment will release Chillerama on Blu-ray this November. An homage to the golden era of B-horror schlock, this omnibus brings together vignettes from directors Adam Rifkin (Detroit Rock City), Tim Sullivan (2001 Maniacs), Adam Green (Hatchet), and Joe Lynch (Wrong Turn 2: Dead End).

Featuring performances from Joel David Moore (Avatar), Lin Shaye (Insidious), Ray Wise (X-Men: First Class), Kane Hodder (Hatchet II), Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight), and Richard Riehle (Office Space), the film uses a connecting framework - the closing night of the last drive-in theater in America - as the backdrop for the following short films: "Wadzilla," "I Was A Teenage Werebear," The Diary of Anne Frankenstein," and "Zom-B-Movie."

Image's Blu-ray presents Chillerama in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio with a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. The disc also contains a number of bonus supplements, including:

    Directors' Video Commentary
    Wadzilla Deleted Scenes and Trailer
The Making of The Diary of Anne Frankenstein featurette
I Was A Teenage Werebear Behind the Scenes, Deleted Scenes, and Trailer
    Zom-B-Movie Deleted Scenes
    Directors' Interviews
    Original Theatrical Trailer

Chillerama is expected to street on November 29th.

The timing this year was just bad for me.

Sucks, but I feel a little bit better after reading that.

Cassadaga (2011) | Horror Movie, DVD, & Book Reviews, News, Interviews at Dread Central

Looks like we maybe missed a good one here Adgy.

Fortunately for this writer, the 2011 Screamfest premiere screening of the feature Cassadaga allayed for me during its running time my concerns regarding the future health of horror, and while not a perfect film, the flick does have a freshly unique voic, and is one which more than likely genre fans will want to sink their teeth into.

Helmed by writer, producer and director of the 2009 feature Dread and executive producer of Clive Barker’s The Midnight Meat Train, filmmaker Anthony Diblasi, his Cassadaga is a hybrid - part giallo and part Southern Gothic - and centers around the character of Lily (actress Kelen Coleman), a young, deaf woman and art teacher who, devastated by the death of her sister, retreats to the spiritualist Florida community of Cassadaga in an effort to find herself. This is a horror flick, however, so instead of her much sought after closure, Lily finds herself (after an ill-advised sťance following an evening drunkenly arguing the validity of psychics with friends) subsequently and violently haunted by the ghost of a murdered woman as well as thrust into the world of one very twisted serial killer, known only as ‘Gepetto.’

    Screamfest LA

Watch this space for line-up announcements. One BIG change...no longer at Mann's Chinese, its been moved to the LA Live Regal Cinemas. Mixed on this. Like the Regal better...nicer theater, located better as far as accessability/parking, COKE not Pepsi products. But, I hope it was the Chinese's decision. I would hate that they lost out. Say what you will, that theater is a landmark. More than likely gonna go to a good bunch of these this year. Haven't for the last few and with the change in venue I feel like I need to support. Hopefully, the higher profile will bring in some bigger films. I'll let you guys know(don't I always) as soon as info comes out.
