That was fantastic. Quite frankly, I think they're poking some fun at the people who complained more than themselves. Either way, it's clear they took the show far less seriously than some of the fans.Originally Posted by jerseydevil

what happened to ComicCon?
i'm so glad i don't go anymore.
That is just sooooooooo the 'COOL KID' response. ComiCon is what you want it to be. You want the old school experience? It's there for you. It's like every damned outre' cutting edge band...oh they are too popular now...sell outs! I love the fact that the celebration of all things geek and popular culture has become such a mainstream event. Walking around SDCC you see folks that will NEVER be the popular kids, getting a chance to enjoy being the belle of the ball for 10 seconds. Don't hate. It is an amazing experience that enriches my dull existence once a year. You really want it to go back to being a non-event...hygenically challenged, lonely people arguing over whether Han shot first over long boxes in the basement of some ****ty hotel? You mock what you do not understand.

Comic-Con: CHUCK
Comic-Con: CHUCK Cast Interview
Yesterday was bittersweet. Not too many dry eyes in the place...including Zachary Levy, who got choked up when it was time to say goodbye. If you haven't been part of the Chuck experience I am sure this sounds silly to you, but you kind of had to be there.
it is most certainly not the "COOL KID" response. the last time i went was 2004 since being a religious attendee since 1992, and i thought it was too much.
yes, part of me enjoyed the old hygienically challenged blah blah non-event, where there wasn't a female in sight... in spirit. how ANY of that can be considered "cool kid" is beyond me.
i most certainly don't mind the geek chic idea one bit. it's hipster as all get out, but whatever, i still find some of it fun. what i DO take umbrage to is looking at pictures of, and reading bits about; Playboy Models, Glee and Big Bang Theory panels and stuff like that... there's your overcrowding problem in a nutshell, and i ain't into that. i liked the idea that i can do the whole con on MY time - mill around for a few days or cram in as much as i can for a day or so and feel like i've seen all i needed to.
i'm not the only one who feels that way either. i know a couple of people in the biz who are in "have to" positions who absolutely loathe anything to do with it anymore... much more than i do. are they mocking what they don't understand?
It's just tiresome. All of the old-school Con goers...'oh, it isn't what it was,' 'it's gone so hollywood', etc. Deal with it. It grew. Maybe it has outgrown the facilities. What do you expect. It's akin to the old man on the porch...'In my day...'. Not your cup of tea, too crowded, too high profile...fine. But this categorical dismissal is just a well worn point of view. And it's unecessary to restate.
