AAArgh, there goes that 'no patience for a character with a little dirt on them thing again'. Even if you didn't like the characters the movie is a kungfu cartoon. How could you watch this and NOT enjoy it. You say Chows character was unlikeable because he was a wanna be thug, well

he was, but only because he got his a$$ kicked when he tried to do the right thing. He came around again. It's called an arc sweetheart. Most good characters have one. And the Landlady was hilarious. What was wrong with the ice cream girl? There's your character who lives a virtuous life and never stops believing in the inherent goodness of mankind despite their poor behavior. KFH is a fun and I thought, really sweet action movie that blurred the lines of fantasy like most really groundbreaking movies do. Try again BT.

Since when does a character with some dirt automatically mean they have to be liked? I'm supposed to like this guy because he thought doing the right thing wasn't good enough so he went bad and then when he goes all good it's supposed to be ok? No way!

Ice cream girl didn't kick any ass. 'Nuff said.

I liked Stephen Chow's character. Granted that he does start off as a criminal, but the fact that he and his chunky, but funky sidekick are so incompetent, in my opinion, pretty much sets the tone for the film's general satiric tone. It pokes fun at not only kung-fu films, but at martial films that revolve around a 'regular' guy unleashing his inner talents, becoming a warrior, and saving the day.

I love the look of the film, that is, the colors, costumes, which give it somewhat of a noir look while maintaining a cartoony feel throughout. And that early scene still makes me want to dance.

Granted that this is not the best film of its kind and that there are several other films in the same vein that are underrated and unheard of in this country, but this film is entertaining through and through and well made. The fact that this film also received a pretty broad release in American Theaters, well, at least as far as Asian Martial Arts films are concerned, made me happy.

Just because a character has 'dirt' does not mean they have to be liked. It's the overall character arc that you have to judge. You are far too dismissive of a character once they go too far over this 'line of virtue' that you cling so fiercely to. All I know is that he tried to do the right thing, got pissed on(literally) and tried the dark side...only to find his way back to the path of the righteous. Redemption, it's a well worn plot device that, if you had your way, would disappear forever. Please, if you ever get offered the job St. Peter currently is supposed to inhabit(if you believe in the bible) please, turn it down. Because it seems that in your eyes, any infraction makes you incapable of being redeemed. You need to judge the whole, not just a part.

AND we have a collosal fail. Ok, mid month shift SUCK currently on showtime...also on demand.Check it out. It's a surprising flick. I think we need to discuss how far you guys are willing to search out a flick.

Didn't you say Sucked sucked? Now you are just playing with us.

NOPE. It should have, and with a title like that it would have been way too easy. It was surprisingly good. Check it out.

Man...I hesitated sooooo long on this one thinking it was going to live up to it's title. And after the first 10 or so, I was sure it was gonna...weird looking folks supposedly in a band, original music(more on that later)...and just a general sense of cheese. But I stuck with it and it paid off in spades. I have seen a lot of low budge flicks that were music centered and could not afford licensing...so they substitute crappy generic soundalike music and it just is soooo wet noodle. This flick is about a rock band that become vamps and the original songs don't detract, as a matter of fact they were kinda catchy. Nice extended cameos by Iggy, Alice, Alex Lifeson, Dave Foley, Henry Rollins(hillarious) and Malcolm McDowell(as vamp hunter Eddie Van Helsig). Nice little flourishes, like some cool sorta stop motion animation and a flashback that clearly incorporates old footage of McDowell make this pretty special. It's a cheesefest no doubt, but it's really well done and thought out cheese. Definitely does not SUCK

Oh, and if you ever wondered what Carrot Top would look like as a Vamp...

It depends entirely on the movie. KFH just doesn't appeal to me for some reason.
