The funniest movie character so far this year is a stuffed teddy bear. And the best comedy screenplay so far is "Ted," the saga of the bear's friendship with a 35-year-old manchild. I know; this also was hard for me to believe

TED will definitely beat what ever garbage Tyler Perry puts out.

I'd like to hope...but Tyler Perry's flicks come with a built in audience, sorry...read into that what you want, but the Madea flicks are successful for a reason. As well as his other non-Madea flicks. And PG-13 vs an R-rated movie about a teddy bear...well, it's an uphill battle. A strong second, beating Brave and Madagascar even seems unlikely. I think Ted finishes 4th with solid numbers, simply due to the R rating and folks being off put by the whole thing. If it can stay in theaters, which it should, for a few weeks and keep from large dropoff numbers it will be a success. Getting great reviews(even ****ing Roger Ebert...c'mon) so that should help. It HAS to finish ahead of Magic Mike, which is also R rated and has a limited audience(women and guys in my neck of the woods...WeHo) That's getting C-ish reviews so hopefully Ted wins out.

    TED Review

Like I said...Good reviews. This guy pointed out flaws and still gave it a b. Another one I read, the guy was an avowed non-fan of Family Guy, and if you don't think preconceptions are going to factor in...you are fooling yourself, yet he still liked it. Hard to find a bad review. Curious to see what Rotten Tomatoes shows by Saturday...
