    The Yahoo article says
"(His co-star, Isabel Sanford -- who played his wife Louise, affectionately referred to as "Weezy" -- would take home an Emmy in 1981. She died in 2004 at 86.)"
Weezy was 20 years older than George?

That's what it appears to be. I never would have thought that. She was 58 at the time of the first season. She looked younger then that in the series.

While looking this up, I noticed that the 2 sons that played Lionel in the series were only 11 years younger then Sherman.

The series lasted 11 seasons. I knew it had a long run but did not think it was that long.

I met, scratch that, saw Hemsley at one of those book festival things at UCLA and waved and he waved back.

George Jefferson was such an interesting character. Norman Lear said that he once thought of an idea which was what if there was a black Archie Bunker?

    This is good television.

I am one of those people who gets depressed when I hear that someone has passed, but then spend the next day thinking how much better I am that person lived i my lifetime.
