Howard Shore: A Composer’s Dream | Film Music Reporter
You can watch the entire short film at the link.The Music of the Lord of the Rings Films reports that the National Board of Canada has produced six short films to celebrate the lives of the 2011 recipients. The short about Shore is called A Composer’s Dream and demonstrates how the Academy Award-winner has distinguished himself as one of Canada’s most accomplished and versatile composers.

Rachel Portman’s ‘Snow Flower and the Secret Fan’ Soundtrack Coming in July | Film Music Reporter
Sony Masterworks will release a soundtrack album for the upcoming drama Snow Flower and the Secret Fan. The album includes the original score from the film by Academy Award-winning composer Rachel Portman. The music was recorded at Angel Studios in London. Details on the album’s contents will be published in the next couple of weeks. The soundtrack will be released on July 12, 2011. Visit Amazon to pre-order the album.
Wow, the previous POTC soundtracks were kinda repetetive, with multiple callbacks to the character THEMES. But this is almost like a disco remix by way of Quentin Tarentino. I promise you, most of this music was not in the movie. Nice Spanish guitarra to drumtracks/percussion. I Like It!!!!!!! They had fun with this...LIKE THE DAMNED MOVIE!!!!!!!!!

This is a must have. NEW DANZIG. I finally have a hard copy of Curtis Mayfield's PUSHERMAN(will always remind me of the medical test scene in ARMAGEDDON), Tyson's One Night In Bangkok...and little dialogue snippits, including 'holla...city of squalla'. Kingsqueen will NEED this on her iPod.
