Hey Disney...make this happen. If nothing else, please return to a more practical route and lose some of the crappy cgi.
While you're at it... get rid of ALL of the crappy cgi. Just keep the non crappy cgi.

STAR WARS AFICIONADO MAGAZINE: GIRL POWER! "JEDI"s FEMALE FIGHTER PILOTS...

Though women fighter pilots were seen amongst the crowd within the Rebel Cruiser briefing room earlier in RETURN OF THE JEDI, it was believed that none were seen in the actual final battle above Endor...until now, with the Blu-ray revealing that one of the brave A-wing pilots was indeed female (as seen in the above image) but, for reasons unknown (probably an accident made during the Post Production dialogue re-dubbing phase in the US) replaced with a male actors voice instead (with one line: "Got it"). Her character was seemingly killed mere seconds later by a TIE fighter.

The full undubbed footage of this lady pilot, and one of her older A-wing colleagues (pictured above), both speaking classic STAR WARS combat and technical dialogue, can be found on the new Blu-ray release.
For reasons unknown, the footage of the two lady X-wing pilots (including actress Vivienne Chandler (pictured below)), also shot for the movie, were not made available for this release. Perhaps they'll show up in the future, too...

EXCLUSIVE: A Sneak Peek at Brian Wood’s “Star Wars” and More! Nerdist

In a galaxy very, very close, Dark Horse will be putting out a brand new monthly Star Wars comic book beginning on January 9th, 2013. At first glance, the news that Dark Horse is putting out a new Star Wars comic might not strike you as particularly impressive. It seems like there’s a new mini-series or ongoing Expanded Universe tale popping up every week, but this one is different. Why? Not only is it simply titled Star Wars and does it feature a gorgeous cover from Alex Ross, but it’s set during the events of the original trilogy and is directly informed by the characters’ reactions to the events of A New Hope.
    Color me curious.

Star Wars Comics Come Back To Marvel - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

The Suits in the know have determined that no new contracts will be given to Dark Horse after the current ones expire. So all new projects after 2013 will be handled internally by Marvel.

It’s not known yet if titles will be worked into the regular line up, or will Marvel create a special branch of the company that deals with Star Wars. It’ll take a couple of years for the old deals to work there course, but the stories that Dark Horse have coming down the pipeline will be the last. And you can expect anything new from Marvel dealing with Star Wars to arrive around 2015.
Unfortunate. Hope this doesn't **** up Dark Horse too badly.

I'm kind of hoping they get to hire Karen Berger and can start their own Vertigo-ish resurgence. She could bring in enough names, I bet, to give them a boost.

    I hope.

STAR WARS Spin-Off Movie Being Developed by Zack Snyder Based off SEVEN SAMURAI | Collider

Back in November, we reported that Zack Snyder wouldn’t be directing Star Wars: Episode VII. This remains true, but Vulture is now reporting the surprising news that Snyder will be involved in the upcoming Star Wars universe with a spin-off feature. As we previously reported, screenwriters Lawrence Kasdan and Simon Kinberg were working on scripts that could be part of the upcoming sequel trilogy or they could be spin-off features. Episode VII is due out in 2015, and Disney CEO Bob Iger has said he wants a new Star Wars movie ever 2-3 years.

Hit the jump for more on Zack Snyder’s upcoming Star Wars film.

According to Vulture, Snyder is developing a Star Wars film that will take place after Episode VI and run parallel to the upcoming trilogy, so it doesn’t seem like it will be a “bridge” movie, although it could provide material for other Star Wars chapters. But that’s getting ahead of ourselves.

It is what it is. I think he could use his style to make a solidly entertaining flick as long as the concept is simple...and with the 7 Samurai route it's kinda fill in the blanks. Hell, it's already been done with that old Corman flick with John boy as the lead(Galaxy something)...whatever. May be the perfect marraige. And we are gonna get rained on with Star Wars projects so at least Disney is getting qualified folks(not d-listers) to take a crack.
