There were DVD editions that had both the Special Edition and the original ones on another disc, but the originals are not remastered or anamorphic. They look pretty bad, but it's better than nothing.
I wonder if Disney will release remastered versions of the original. They'll probably release Song of the South before that.
A copy of the original trilogy as Star Wars: The Definitive Collection can be had on LaserDisc for about $40. Perhaps this is the cleanest version of the original theatrical cuts. It even comes with a cool book. Of course, then you also need a working LaserDisc player.
Well...no VHS or Laserdisc player (though I had one for a bit and still have quite a bit of anime on laserdisc).
Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Bullets are cheap. Life is priceless.
I saw betamax tapes at a Goodwill not too long ago.
