I am afraid of being disappointed. The original trilogy were simpler movies in simpler times. Episodes 1-3 seemed really complex and I became confused with the storyline. Then there were the special effects. Information overload. I do have some hope as Abrams was able to pull off the Star Trek reboot as I like that. It didn't have the original cast in it either (well, ok, there was one) which is even more important to pull off this new movie. All I can say is that I am hopeful.
If it helps...it's a very simple concept. Actually a great use of past history(the good stuff) and a simple open ended platform that is a GREAT starting point for what they are planning. Lots of room to develop, and yet, it will feel very familiar, like a comfy pair o'shoes. I felt the first tinge of optimism when I read.
The SPOILERS don't say much and I question the validity of them considering, things not designed to withstand the rigors of re-entry through a planets atmosphere burn-up when they do so, so the whole premise is silly.
