It HAD to be pg-13. This flick is going to have a helluva time finding an audience as it is. An 'R' rating would have been doom. Besides i don't think it was ever the intention of Snyder to make this 'R'. It's a riff on Alice In Wonderland set in an insane asylum(maaaayyyyyyybeeeee) with musical numbers, robots and **** blowing up real good. I have no expectations of this being a hit. The vast moviegoing audience will be afraid and confused by it. It will fail only to be considered a cult classic years from now. Sad but true...and Transformers 3 with a dreddlocked robot will be #1 at the box office for weeks at a time. Hooray America!!!!!

unfortunately, you're right. i'm just hoping that the story is good enough to match the beautiful art direction it is in.
and if that isn't enough to grab an audience, then i pity the fool.
