For months, sometimes years, they painstakingly work on a singular story until they feel it’s ready for public consumption. But imagine those same people had to make a mini-movie every single week and keep it entertaining and interesting over the course of several months or years. It would be extremely difficult. It's funny, the term showrunner has become part of a tv watchers vocabulary almost overnight. Yet, who really knows what they do? I'd watch this just to get a definition.
