Default Tom Clancy...we hardly knew ye.

Hunt For Red October Author Tom Clancy Passes Away - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

I know there is a thread, but I still think higher profile folks deserve their own thread.

Summer reading will never be the same.

I have to admit I enjoyed his books when I had hours to burn. Still enjoy going back to them now and again. RIP

I thoroughly enjoyed Red Storm Rising (as well as Hunt). If you were a young adult around the time of Red, as I was, the theme was the concern most folks had back then of a Russia moving west. Great concept, good novel and totally terrifying and fully before the Berlin Wall falling was even a glimpse of a thought.

After reading Red I could only take so much of an author who so completely details his stories and I stuck with Stephen King. Regardless I enjoyed Clancy's stuff and am sorry to hear his passing.
