I know there are a few Against Me!/Gabel fans around these parts, as well as this will be an insanely interesting story that will only develop from here.

Now that "Against Me!" name kind makes sense, eh?

srsly, my reactions went from this:

heart break.

i was in love with him. that voice. someone on VC claims the voice doesn't go, but i don't know about that. his gruff voice + punk male lead singer allure did it for me. i think it's fantastic that he has the courage to come out like that and that his wife is being supportive. personally, i'm attracted to dudes only so that was the only reason for the heart break. i will still give AM! a chance, but i'll probably move on from tommy gabel just like she has.

after the initial shock i guess the lyrics to ocean make sense now.

edit: come to think of it, my heart also broke when i found out he was married to heather. i ran into her all the time at alk3 shows and she's kind of a bitch. BUTTTTTT, it's great that she's supportive to the people who count the most. and she does make nice art.

those lyrics make too much sense. it's such a bizarre story, but yep, he/she has tons of courage to do something like this.

will they re-record AM songs once she has a new voice? (they love to put out tons of variants)

edit: my sister is also a huge AM! fan, i have taken her to quite a few of their shows, and she is also in disbelief & heart broken, like lunchie.

Not a huge fan, but I definitely enjoy their music and have seen them play Warped Tour a couple times. Crazy news, but I'm curious to hear what the new stuff would sound like.

edit: i might be totally out of line, but why heartbroken? I think it takes incredible courage for him to come out/deal with this, let alone the wife being understanding.

I have no idea what it'd be like after the fact, but if they continue to play shows I'd be at the front of the line for tickets.
