****, yeah, I forgot about that one, too. That's a great movie.

That's about what I thought. It might be worth going back for the lesbian scene, but then I remember that Susan Sarandon is half of that, so... nope.

Tony Scott Left Behind Some Fine Projects

Aside from Top Gun 2, Tony Scott has left behind some very promising development projects. The ones that were closest to the start line were Narco Sub at Fox and Lucky Strike with Vince Vaughn starring, Emmett/Furla funding and Fox distributing and a remake of The Wild Bunch at Warner Bros. The one I was most intrigued by was his plan to remake the Walter Hill-directed The Warriors, the 1979 drama about the street gang framed for murdering a gang leader, who are hunted by assorted street gangs as they try to make their way back to the safety of their home turf. Under Scott’s direction, that would have been something to see.
I didn't know there was a remake of The Warriors on the slate...

The Hunger is my favorite of his films, but, to be fair, I haven't seen it in more than 20 years, too.

That was the reason I rented it originally.

I may be in the minority here, but for me there was never a time in her life when Susan Sarandon was anywhere even close to hot enough to be allowed to touch Catherine Deneuve.

See, vicariously, I put myself in Sarandon's place, and well, you get the idea. It was the 80's. I was a weird kid.

In my opinion, Tony Scott was the worst big budget director of all time. I have hated every single one of his movies. Every stinking one that I ever saw was worse than it should have been. Style over substance at every turn, but his style was vapid and pointless without any courage or personality to do anything other than loud, easy choices.

I grew up in San Pedro and was terrified of the Vincent Thomas bridge. I've had countless nightmares about dying falling from that monstrosity. I've heard that the brain cancer story is being disputed now, but either way, I completely support his decision to end his life in a manner of his own choosing regardless of the circumstances. I won't miss his work, at all, but if he felt he had to go, I hope he went in peace and had his affairs in order.

I get your point MB, his movies were eye candy more than brain...but they are not without merit. The aforementioned remake of Man on Fire is really good. And Enemy of the State is one of my JunkFoodMovie top tens. Not an Oscar winner but tremendously entertaining.
