So... caught the 3D teaser reel @ Botcon Saturday night. It is looking good. The 3D is really well done.

We saw the initial five minutes involving the moon but no spoiler stuff... then around 10 mins of other scenes, the longest of which was the helo/flying-suits from the trailer. Oh, and that mega-cool BB transform scene was a real stand-out.

As much as people moaned about Mega Fox, RHW *will* be the weak link for this one. Guaranteed. And if there's any chance of G1 canon coming to pass and her future role, I hope that is all glossed-over in TF#4.

Michael Bay's career should have ended after the first Bad Boys. At least then I'd want him to make more movies.

Michael Bay Thank You Note TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON 3D

Transformers: Dark of the Moon finally hits theaters this week, and with the recent decline in 3D box-office Michael Bay is doing everything he can to make sure people see his film in the third dimension. A couple of days ago, we reported that Bay and Paramount had contacted theater owners across the country to ask that they increase the brightness on their projectors for 3D prints of Dark of the Moon, in order to improve image quality. Now Bay has written a thank you note that he uses as another opportunity to talk about the high quality 3D used on the film:

“‘Dark of the Moon’ has some of the most technically challenging sequences ever shot. And shot in 3D. I must urge you to find the very best theatre and see this movie in that format. 3D was a forethought, not an afterthought in this movie. I’m glad Jim Cameron and Steven Spielberg really convinced me to shoot in this new technology.”
Look, I think this guy is a terrible hack and I despise the Transformers flicks, but he is making a reasonable request that has been the entire problem with 3d...it darkens the crap out of the film. To the point that it obscures important details. If the simple solution is to adjust the ****ing brightness, then give the man a cookie.

Quint thinks Michael Bay minimized the stupid **** and maximized the cool-ass action **** in Transformers: Dark of the Moon!

I am reading nothing but good reviews so far...is this for real? Or is it more of a case of distinctly lowered expectations set by the first two?

2 hours 34 minutes?!?! This isn't Gone with the Wind. I hated the first one since it took almost an hour for anything to happen and I skipped the second. Tomatometer is giving it horrible reviews, currently at 38%
