i have the same space issues at my place so figuring out where to put all my stuff if i move it around to make room for more records is also a bit of a burden. if i end up gettimg that 2x4 expedit, space wouldn't be an issue since i would just get rid of the 2x2 and then have the unit stand vertically so it would occupy the same floor space but be a higher shelf, basically. so sarf, you could just build something to go on top of the shelf you have now and bolt it to the wall so it doesn't fall over? i remember you posted a pic, but don't recall exactly what it looked like (too lazy to go back in thread). orrr... you could build a new one that goes up higher and get rid of the old one (sell on craigslist--diy handmade real wood, yes? shelf!)

i have two more records coming--
forgetters (blake schwarzenbach of jawbreaker's current band)
thrice anthology 4LP set.
and then i hope i can lay off record buying for a bit.

i've been meaning to take a picture of the current set up, but i'm always forgetting. i have my table and amp on both the ikea shelf and the one i built, so i probably won't be putting another one on top of those. i think i'm going to keep them both and buy one of those 2x4 ikea shelf like you mention, it seems like it would be the most space effective. unless i build something similar to that.

im in the process of moving and will be switching from the 2x2 expedite to the 4x2, pretty excited to have a bigger record nerd set up since my collection has grown quite a bit in the last few months.

i showed my gf the 4x2 at ikea and she said i can get it once we settle in the new place!

so with all the new records i've gotten in the last month, i did have to bump some non-vinyl box sets out of the expedit and it's getting tighter in there.

i got a few more records in this week:
ella fitzgerald and louis armstrong - ella & louis
the forecast - everybody left

and sense field is one of my husband's favorite bands so i got him a bunch of 7"s from IVWT before the guy closed up shop.
the other 2 LPs i listed above are actually from another distro that also went out of business.

pretty big bummer about that. they had a good diverse catalog of stuff but i guess it was too time consuming to run a business from home all by yourself like that.
i still have the revHQ distro by my house, but the genres they carry are limited.

i moved 5 boxes of vinyl into the new place this weekend... holy ****, this is why dj's use laptops now!

Yeah I did the same last week, heavy as ****, glad I don't have too many 180g haha

Finally starting to make a dent in unpacking and setting the house up and was able to set up my records today, pretty happy with it. debating on getting one of these easy to replace record frames (Records On Walls: Vinyl Record Frame) for whatever album im listening to instead of just setting it on top of the turnable or next to it and have to hang art too but for the most part its set up

looks great! nice appearance by rosie, too, haha!

Dudes, lol, I went through my pop's vinyl collection and he has a frickin' first year pressing of The Beach Boys Pet Sounds that his mother bought him in the late '60's! :O

And, haha, I asked him, jokingly enough, can I have I have it, and he was like, I'll give you the will of the house before I give you this record. He won't play it anymore, and it's pretty good condition. It's his second favorite record after, *gasp, a first year pressing of Abbey Road! :O
