Thread: The vinyl thread (v2.0)

i wanted the 2x4 but it would've been a little too long for our wall, the other side of the tv has one of our dvd/bluray racks

Picked this up last night at Mariachi El Bronx's record release show. I had it on pre-order but that doesn't ship for a couple weeks and i wanted it now haha. It's kinda dark but its a clear red, white, clear green (mexican flag)

And got these in the mail today from a user on Vinyl Collective

that mexican one is pretty bad

so, i got my kevin devine luxembourg 7". they sent me clear blue instead of clear orange. sweet! it's funny because i had called that record store in NY asking about it and they said they were getting it in soon and that i should call back next monday or tuesday but i guess i don't need to now. the dude even told me that the record label has been totally unprofessional about the release and they were supposed to have it back in the spring to coordinate with a show that kevin played and the store is only getting the 7"s now. he said they had about 400-500 orders to fulfill but that they might have leftovers... i don't have to worry about it anymore. the label sent me a tiny note saying "thanks for your order and support". lol...

so here's a photo of my most recent stuff:

hot water music "no division" (i think i said it was grey swirl but i was too busy going bananas over the fudged alk3 order that i overlooked the fact that it was actually a purple with multicolor swirl.)



i like that mexican flag record a lot. too bad i'm not a giant mariachi el bronx fan. i know a guy who toured with them a few years ago and he was totally pumped to go to their recent shows. he's happy for their success. now if someone released a french flag themed record...

Im super jealous of that No Division, i need to add to my HWM collection. Where did you order your Luxembourg from? I ordered mine from Academy Fight Song months ago and havnt gotten ****, i got shipping confirmation for another Kevin Devine 7" i ordered but not that one. Also, and not that it isnt pretty, but if i dont get my clear w/ orange screenprint that i ordered ill be pissed haha.

i got shipping confirmation of it on tuesday. and i also ordered it from academy fight song, right off the link you posted in this thread.
ya, i would be irritated also if i was expecting what i ordered and got something i wasn't trying to get instead. works out for me because i was hoping to get the blue and thought i'd flip the orange if i got that. i hope you get yours soon.


shadowalk, i got the picture disc, too. i played it, but haven't had time to look at all the pics. my personal fave is the clear with black splatter 7" though. i do think the visuals in this release are better than the music, pretty s***ty renditions, but hey, that's nofx for you. lol.

well, academy fight song strike 1. the 7" i got today was supposed to be clear w/ a screen print and instead i got a clear orange which is more limited but not what i wanted at all.

went by Fingerprints today and grabed a repress of Refused "The Shape Of Punk To Come" on 2xLP 180g black vinyl. So stoked to have a copy of this album in my collection.

huh. technically, they f***ed up my order also since i was supposed to get the same as you. i thought i was supposed to get clear orange, but i looked back at the link that i bought from and it said "clear with screenprint". i'm not too mad about it though since i was trying to get the blue anyway. i'm a little annoyed the gears print/design isn't in the center of the 7" like it is in every other picture i've seen (both the euro distributor and the afs website).

whatever... i'm not likely to order from that label again because of all the complaints i've heard.

btw, that set dustin kensrue played was awesome. he played half his own solo work, half acoustic thrice songs. lots of people came. it was niiiiice.
