Thread: The vinyl thread (v2.0)

A smaller label in the states, Sabot Productions, announced a couple months back that they will no longer be pressing any of their releases on CD and only on vinyl.

07/02/11 – Sabot Productions will no longer be manufacturing any releases on compact disc. We will continue to release everything on vinyl & digitally. Our back catalog of compact discs could now be considered limited edition, as these will not be manufactured again. We’ve created a new t-shirt, ACT031, to commemorate this occasion.

I have actually been considering releasing vinyl only under my small label and possibly resorting to Digital CD releases.

Got my copy of Chuck Ragans - Covering Ground today. Unlike Lunchie i picked up the off white version

i got three thrice records since i last posted. i have one more on the way. i just have vheissu left to buy and i will have a complete collection. btw, fingerprints sold their copy. :(

in regards to CDs, i bought those for the longest time because they were the most convenient way to listen for me (home sound system, car, takes up less space...) and still have a physical copy of the artwork and liner notes. in fact, part of my thrice collection is the limited edition CD digipacks. however, the CD portion of my home sound system broke and costs more to fix than to buy a new one so basically since this thread started, i've switched to buying vinyl only and getting a hold of the digital version if i really want portability.

i really want that record as i'm a fan of 3 of those musicians on the tour, but i think i'll wait until it gets released here. i heard the stateside release will be a different colorway. even if it's black, i'll be ok with it.

ian, take a pic of the earth tone HWM record when/if you get a chance, please. i just wanted to know what it looked like in real life since my lavendar/clear was even cooler looking than it appeared on no idea's site.

We just received the Major/Minor by Thrice in the mail (one of the limited editions with the blue speckles in it). I do believe my husband just got Beggars as well. Oh, and we just picked up Social Distortions "Mainliner" (wreckage from the past).
