i got my death cab for cutie 2LP finally. (like months, it seems, after ian hooked me up with the mp3s), but i was a good girl and paid for the music eventually.
i really want to get a proper record player like you guys were discussing, but i'm pretty retarded when it comes to hooking it up and getting all the necessary components. the retro crosley i have is so much simpler and i like the retro/suitcase trunk look. obviously, the sound isn't as great and i feel i need a nicer system to justify the hundreds i've spent on records, but i guess now is just not the time for me...

question to you guys about craigslist. do you guys make the people you buy from plug the unit in and show you it works before you buy it? i always wonder about that.
you guys are lucky, building record holding shelves with your pops. although, i will say, i got my first records from my dad. funny how that is. hopefully, my kid will likewise pick it up from me.
My girlfriends dad came up on a brand new Rega for pretty cheap from one his friends. Not gonna lie, a little jealous. It was a little weird though that it didn't have a automatic return for the arm and we can't seem to find how to change from 33 to 45. Sure looks and sounds nice though.

And if you want to switch from 33 to 45, you're suppose to lift the platter and move the bands accordingly. That's the one downer, but you can buy components that can give you a switch for that.
